Our Office Operations

We have adopted a new technology platform this year.  You should have already received the document checklist and questionnaire from us by email and text.  This platform provides a document checklist for you, based on the return we prepared for you last year.  You can then add or remove documents as applicable to your unique situation.  You can securely provide documents to us without having to log in.  Of course, you will need to log in order to view, download, or E-sign documents.  This platform has an E-sign feature that is much easier to use than the prior platform. This is an option.  You may still drop off documents, or make a dropoff or tax preparation appointment at the Tallahassee or Crawfordville office, as we have done in the past.

 

As far as taking appointments, we are having to make some changes as well.  We are  implementing a minimum fee for tax preparation appointments.  For a tax preparation appointment, the minimum preparation fee is now $200.  This minimum does not apply to returns where the documents are dropped off or uploaded.  A drop-off appointment is not charged an appointment fee in addition to the preparation fee.  For example: You have a preparation appointment, and the preparation fee is $135.  You will now pay $200.  The cheapest way for clients with less complex tax returns, will be for you to drop off or upload the documents to us electronically.  Let’s call these “simple tax returns.”  The minimum tax preparation appointment fee will not affect most clients.  This allows us to be more efficient and keep our costs competitive.  We will, of course, still answer questions and provide the same level of service and follow-up support you have become accustomed to.
